Laurie Raymond

Laurie is a registered and licensed (Michigan and Illinois) occupational therapist with over 40 years of pediatric experience.  She received her initial BSOT from Eastern Michigan University in 1976 and her MSOT from the University of Illinois in 2000.  Laurie has worked with infants through adults in a variety of settings throughout the past 4 decades including Hospital inpatient and outpatient programs, Public and Private school programs, and private clinical settings. She is SIPT certified, completed the NDT pediatric course, and has a certificate in DIR/Floortime. She has been faculty for the DIR training programs and continues to mentor therapists in the DIR model. Thus, Laurie's treatment is primarily play-based. Laurie is also a Certified Educator of Infant Massage and has received extensive training in supplemental treatment approaches including TAMO, Sensory Integration and Sensory Processing Disorders, Disorders of Regulation, SOS, Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention, Crainio-Sacral Therapy, Kinesio Taping, a variety of Sound Therapy interventions including AIT, Therapeutic Listening, Samonas, Integrated Listening Systems, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). Laurie has dedicated her career to treating children with a variety of diagnoses incorporating family priorities within a multi-disciplinary team developing comprehensive treatment programs mindful of the identified developmental needs of the child. Laurie enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with family especially her 2 adult children and exceptionally precious grandchildren.
